If you haven’t had the pleasure to see one of Australia’s and the world’s best in Magic sleight of Hand magicians then you must come to this lecture on Thursday October 19.
Barry Govan has been performing full time since 1992. He Started learning sleight of hand as a teenager where he was fortunate to meet an old time gambler from New York who gave him a book by Erdnase and started teaching him sleight of hand.
Barry then spent the first two years being a card mechanic playing draw poker until his magic teacher Pat Blackham told him that magic was the way to go rather than cheating at cards for money.
Barry focused his skill set on sleight of hand instead of large illusions.
With 9 lecture tours of the USA from the mid 70’s including opening lecture at the FFFF convention and working a week at the Magic Castle in Hollywood.
Barry has been fortunate to spend time with magicians such as Dai Vernon, Al Goshman, Steve Freeman, Tony Giorgio, Jimmy Grippo, Larry Jennings and others including Bill Malone, David Roth and Darwin Ortiz.
Work included touring with Elle McPherson and special magic performances for Muhammad Ali and other notables at corporate and special events.
