Magic at The Comedy Festival
While it’s not as exciting to magic fans as The Melbourne Magic Festival, this year The Melbourne International Comedy Festival is featuring several of our favourite magicians!
MAGICSPORTS – The completely improvised magical version of “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” took out The Melbourne International Comedy Festival Award for ‘Funniest Show’ at last year’s Magic Festival, and will be presenting two shows only (they will sell out, so book now!) at The Powder Room, Melbourne Town Hall on April 4 and 11. You’ll get to see Nicholas J Johnson, Dom Chambers, Tim Ellis, Nick Kesidis, Josh Staley, Lee Cohen and Tim You in an hilarious hour of never before seen magic!
ALEX & LUKE MAKE YOUR PARENTS DISAPPEAR AGAIN – always sells out at The Melbourne Magic Festival, and no doubt will be hugely popular in The Famous Speigeltent at The Comedy Festival this year – especially after Alex and Luke’s success on Australia’s Got Talent (with their third ‘Gentleman of Deceit’, Vyom). They’re performing 14 shows from March 26 to April 10 every day at 2.30pm and it is perfect family entertainment!
DOM AND DUMBER– Strictly adults only and totally hilarious, Dom Chambers and Bayden Hammond are the sketch comedy magicians. Last year they won The Magic Festival’s ‘Artistic Excellence Award’ and have taken their show to a whole new level! Seven shows only though, April 3 to 17. LAWRENCE LEUNG IN VERY STRANGE THINGS – Experiments? Mind Games? Does this mean magic? You’ll have to go along and decide for yourself! But we guarantee it will be one of the best nights of “strange things” you’ll experience all year! Lawrence is performing at The Malthouse from March 24 to April 17. Don’t miss it!
HAPPY CAMPERS – No magic, but starring two Magic Festival favourites Nicholas J Johnson and Sarah Jones as the comedy team Jonestown. 6 shows only at The Butterfly Club from March 29 to April 3 you will laugh yourself silly! Here’s a preview:
