Do you dream of wearing a Top Hat, Glittering Gown, or being a Magical Clown? Magicians under the age of 18 meet online via Zoom, sharing their passion for magic with other budding magicians.

What is AIM Juniors?
AIM Juniors is an initiative of the Australian Institute of Magic created to encourage and develop young performers in the art of magic, to see them perform confidently in front of an audience.
Learn how to turn your tricks and ideas into a MAGIC ACT!
We welcome young magicians (children and teens) of any skill level, anywhere in Australia, you just require a genuine interest in learning about the art of magical entertainment.
Share what new magic ideas you are working on and receive insights into how to achieve the impossible. Hear tips about showmanship, stagecraft, and learn skills from professional magicians, Dazzling Dan, Anthony De Masi, Liam Jumpertz and Josh Staley.
Be inspired to perform for friends, family members, or even on stage at an event in your local community! If you can attend the Melbourne Magic Festival in July 2027 you might consider performing your magic act in the Australian Junior Championships of Magic (AJCM) detailed below.
AIM Juniors 2026
AIM Juniors will run on a Monday, scheduled around the school term of Victoria, Australia.
During Term 3 & 4 sessions run on the first Monday from 4:30-5:15pm (AEST)&(AEDT).
- For interstate participants we provide the adjusted login time so we are all in sync across the different timezones! We also welcome feedback regarding the scheduling of suitable times to unite young magicians from across Australia.
- There is no fee to participate, just a commitment from participants to be respectful and share the session and coaches time among all participants.
- Additional sessions will be run if demand is high, or if there are varying skill levels.

The Australian Junior Championships of Magic (AJCM)
‘The Australian Junior Championships of Magic’ (AJCM) are designed to develop and inspire young magicians, while forming relationships with their peers in a fun and encouraging environment.
We encourage young magicians (under 18yrs) to apply to perform a 3min-5min magic act, and if they dazzle the judges they could take home a prize!
FIRST PRIZE: receive a trophy and PRIZE MONEY!
To participate you just need to:
- Complete the application form
- Prepare your magic act (3min-5mins).
- Perform your magic act to the wonderful audience at the AJCM.
The AJCM is part of the Melbourne Magic Festival and will be held during the Victorian Winter School Holidays 2027.
Proposed schedule: subject to change
- Rehearsal: TIME to be confirmed: Young magicians and participants arrive at the venue for a rehearsal.
- Performance: TIME (approx. 2hrs after arrival time): The Australian Junior Championships of Magic – Public performance begins! Approx. running time of public show: 60mins
Note: Competitors are allocated one complimentary ticket for their parent/guardian to attend, additional tickets will be available for pre-sale to families.

The ‘Australian Junior Championships of Magic’ (AJCM) have been produced by the AIM since 2008. Beginning with the intention of connecting young magicians and providing a platform where they can practice the process of constructing an act and performing in front of a live audience, this event has become an annual feature of the Melbourne Magic Festival.
The Championships have proven a valuable launching pad for young magicians. Our special guest judges always provide helpful feedback allowing participants to learn and grow through their experience while meeting new friends who share their love for the art of magic. Previous Competitors have gone on to produce their own shows, appear on television programs and win international awards.
The Championships are open to all young magicians (under 18yrs old) Australia-wide, and will be held once again as part of the Melbourne Magic Festival in 2027.
