A highlight of the Melbourne Magic Festival, and for first time at Arts Centre Melbourne, the Championships have proven a valuable launching pad for new entertainers. With great prizes on offer, our special guest judges always provide helpful feedback allowing participants to learn and grow through their experience while meeting new friends who share their love for the art of magic. Previous Competitors have gone on to produce their own shows, appear on television and win international awards.

Want to Compete?

If you think you have what it takes to take the title, why not enter as a competitor! Both competitions are open to any magician under 18 who has a 3-5 minute close up or stage routine prepared. Simply fill out the entry form via the link below and your family will be contacted by the Australian Institute of Magic to chat, and potentially offer you a place in the championships. All competitors participate in skill, production and performance workshops in the two days preceding the Championships.

All entries will be reviewed by the Australian Institute of Magic, and successful candidates will be advised on next steps.

Applications will be processed as they are received. Once the allotted places have been filled, further applications will not be accepted. It is highly recommended you apply early to avoid disappointment. Unless all places are filled previously, applications will close 24 June.
