We are very saddened at the news of the passing of beloved AIM Member Ron Dorre.

Ron was instrumental in the success of The Australian Institute of Magic as a very pro-active committee member, and he was key to the growth of the Melbourne Magic Festival as our main videographer and publicist.

His love of magic was second to none, but not only did he love the art, he loved and supported the artists as well.

Everyone who came into contact with him encountered his kindness, generosity, and he authenticity and left knowing they had made a true friend in Ron.

Outside of magic Ron was a huge supporter of the charity ‘Bully Zero’ and was always giving his time freely to help others. He was a tireless worker and, when struck down with illness, still went out of his way to put others first. As Anthony DeMasi recalls “Even at a time when he was unwell he wanted to make people happy. We made a show together for all the staff and patients at Brunswick hospital.”
